FUNDING AND SUPPORT ACTIVITIES
Sustainable Environmental and Circular Economy Projects
CHRISTOPHERUS STIFTUNG INTERNATIONAL (CSI) supports and initiates projects that make a measurable contribution to environmental protection, climate action and the conservation of natural resources.
Our objective is to develop and promote sustainable solutions for municipalities, businesses, tourism destinations, healthcare facilities and local communities.
A particular focus is placed on reducing environmental pollution in coastal regions, rivers and oceans, while promoting innovative approaches to marine waste collection, recovery and energy conversion.
Protection of Oceans and Water Resources
Every year, millions of tonnes of plastic and other waste enter rivers and oceans.
CSI therefore supports initiatives focused on waste prevention, collection, recovery and sustainable utilisation, as well as awareness programmes for local communities, the tourism industry and businesses.
We collaborate with companies, research institutions, municipalities and non-governmental organisations to develop practical and economically viable solutions that strengthen environmental protection.
Environmental Technologies and the Circular Economy
CSI promotes innovative technologies for recovering value from waste and residual materials, particularly where conventional recycling methods reach their limits.
Our main areas of activity include:
- Recovery and utilisation of non-recyclable waste
- Innovative waste-to-energy solutions
- Biofuel production and energy generation from waste streams
- Circular economy models for tourism destinations and coastal regions
- Demonstration and training projects involving sustainable environmental technologies
Our objective is to reduce environmental impacts while creating additional economic value for regions and local communities.
Green Star Certification
Through Green Star Certification, CSI has developed an international sustainability label for hotels, resorts, hospitals, wellness centres and tourism facilities.
The certification evaluates establishments according to criteria covering:
- Environmental and climate protection
- Health and well-being
- Social responsibility
- Sustainable operational management
- Resource efficiency
The programme helps recognise and highlight establishments committed to sustainability while encouraging continuous improvements in their environmental and operational practices.
Sustainable Tourism and Healthcare Destinations
CSI supports projects aimed at developing sustainable tourism, healthcare and wellness destinations.
These initiatives focus on environmental responsibility, resource conservation, local economic development and improving the quality of life of residents and visitors.
International Cooperation
To achieve these objectives, CSI promotes international cooperation between public institutions, businesses, research organisations and non-governmental organisations.
Through donations, grants, investments and strategic partnerships, we aim to support innovative projects from their initial pilot phase through to long-term implementation.
Our goal is to combine environmental responsibility with economic development and social benefits, making a lasting contribution to a sustainable future for generations to come.
